Beginners Guide to SEO

As a beginner to SEO, it can be hard to know where to look, who to trust, and what to implement straight away. I know i’ve been right there in your shoes, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

With all this talk about SEO, Search Engine Optimisation, do you actually know SEO, or have a grasp of it? A course can only get you so far, if you are trying to rank in google, then start with a guide from Google, there is so much free authority content out there you rarely need to pay for a video course these days, its more you need little corrections on what your all ready doing.

Here are some resources to get you going.  Also available as a pdf (but may not be as updated as a webpage_

This includes the most recent version of the Quality Rater Guide as well.

There is more than enough just here alone, to keep you busy for some time. The trick here is to implement, to do it correctly, and to keep checking back in the google webmaster support channel to verify what your doing is correct. And don’t be afraid to ask for help. (I don’t mean search out for a SEO company but join a local SEO meetup, so you can get the right foundations), which will put you on the right track if you end up wanting to hire an expert to scale up your efforts.
